Terry was born in Iowa, educated in NY, his 4-decade, self-propelled art career in Tampa Bay ranges from magazine illustrator/cartoonist to work as a scenic painter/sculptor in the amusement park & movie industries where working on large-scale projects gave him the training for his extensive public mural works and also building the Recyclosaurus at MOSI. In his studio, he paints in an awarded "Realistic Impressionism" style but also utilizes mixed media for his one-of-a-kind "Protusion Artwork" pieces that reach out beyond the canvas and spill into the frame.
